On October 4th at 6:00 pm, the F'Art space at Via San Francesco di Paola 13 in L'Aquila, Italia presents ZERO LUOGHI (Zero Places), curated by Katiuscia Tomei. This voice-over performance by Patrizia Bellezza features the words of Italo Calvino's "Journey to the Cities of De Chirico," along with a body of work and projections by Donatella Giagnacovo. The event is also the first of the second edition of the Eterotopie (Heterotopias) artistic language festival.
ZERO LUOGHI is a "diagonal" look at used, usurped, and violated places/non-places that stir conflicting feelings within us, where cultural principles fade and the community that frequents them becomes transparent. Temporal and mental space is thus added to physical, geometric space, and the dimensions are linked by the relationships established with those who inhabit them.
ZERO LUOGHI invites us to denounce ourselves, to seek a way out, to educate ourselves in egalitarianism, to overcome individualism and nationalism, because being terrestrial must still mean something.
