Without filter and duplicity: this is the spirit of KINGS, a duo formed by Federica Perazzoli and Daniele Innamorato. Both painters, with distinct sensibilities and poetics, they have been linked by a friendship, closeness, and exchange for over twenty years. This led them, in 2000, to combine their paths in a parallel, four-handed project where art and life merge. KINGS was born as an experiment, a form of entertainment, and a practical incursion into social reality, always caught red-handed. A journey into marginal and institutional territories—from the nightlife of clubs to the counterculture of community centers, from the glamour of fashion to the art world—with an avowedly rough and direct approach, heir to their punk attitude. The neon sign FUCK ART COLLECTOR$ denounces a system in which art has been emptied of meaning and value and survives as a status symbol. If the glossy rhetoric of contemporary art is dismantled with ironic cynicism by slogans to restore a grain of truth, the provocative words are displayed as icons, turning everything into question. The work thus thrives on its own ambiguity: it is a device that multiplies contradictions without offering solutions, navigating opposites with clarity and humor.
