"Luigi Spazzapan" Regional Gallery of Contemporary Art

Inaugurated in the historic Palazzo Torriani in Gradisca d’Isonzo, in the province of Gorizia, the Gallery preserves and promotes the works of Luigi Spazzapan, a native of Gradisca and one of the first representatives of abstract and informal art in Italy, as well as those of various contemporary regional artists.

In recent years, the activities of the Spazzapan Gallery have included dozens of exhibitions of art, design, and photography, interdisciplinary showcases, meetings, workshops, and conferences, with a program centered on dialogue and exchange. Notable examples include the exhibitions "Artist + Artist" and "Sottsass/Spazzapan". Additionally, the Gallery has focused on enhancing contemporary art through the Together project, which will allow sixty contemporary artists from Friuli Venezia Giulia to take center stage in exhibitions and initiatives over the next three years.

The Gallery is managed by ERPAC FVG - the Regional Authority for Cultural Heritage of Friuli Venezia Giulia, in collaboration with the Municipality of Gradisca d’Isonzo and the Carigo Foundation.

MAC - Museum of Contemporary Art in Lissone

The MAC - Museum of Contemporary Art of Lissone, whose current exhibition space was inaugurated in 2000, is structured across three above-ground levels and a basement floor. The Museum houses a significant collection of works originating from the extraordinary journey of the historic Lissone Prize (1946-1967). Supported by the most esteemed international critics, the Lissone Prize became, during the 1950s and 1960s, a true benchmark for the most advanced artistic research on an international scale.

From this activity, a fervent and pioneering twenty-year period, the Historical Collection of the Museum of Contemporary Art of Lissone was born, comprising works by Emilio Vedova, Piero Dorazio, Mauro Reggiani, Ennio Morlotti, Karel Appel, Antoni Tàpies, Francois Dufrêne, Emilio Scanavino, Achille Perilli, Renato Birolli, Mario Schifano, Theodor Werner, Gerard Schneider, Valerio Adami, Mattia Moreni, to name just a few.

The museum's heritage also includes a collection of works by the Lissone-born artist Gino Meloni and a substantial section of recently acquired works. Alongside the exhibition of the Lissone Prize Collection, the MAC organizes annual temporary contemporary art exhibitions and regularly hosts cultural events such as performances, talks, book presentations, guided tours, and concerts.
