Close. Not Here. assembles in Trento those Tridentine artists – by birth or election – who have built their international careers elsewhere, in or outside of Italy.
Curated by the Tridentine artist Luca Coser, faculty member at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts, along with the curators of the Galleria Civica, the project presents the cultural pursuits of those who dwell – mentally and physically – in an elsewhere that is not just geographic.
Born between 1943 and 1989, the authors live and work in Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom, Spain, Sweden, Brazil, Canada and the United States, and have participated in international exhibitions and events. The works on display have been created using a multiplicity of techniques and languages. The result is a story with a number of voices, revealing the heterogeneity of identities and creative experiences.
As in a journey, the itinerary is marked by points of access, of transit, for stopping and resting, highlighted by the layout designed by the Campomarzio architects’ collective.

On display are works by:

Cinzia Angelini, Carmelo Arnoldin, Fabrizio Barozzi, Marco Dalbosco, Veronica de Giovanelli, Anna de Manincor, Loredana Dordi, Piermario Dorigatti, Giancarlo Ferrari, Matteo Franceschini, Micol Grazioli, Flavio Marzadro, Valentina Miorandi, Andrea Pallaoro, Rafael Pareja, Matteo Peterlini, Mariella Poli, Matteo Rosa, Giacomo Sartori, Gino Tavernini, Antonello Veneri.
