The Galleria d'Arte Moderna Achille Forti is located in Palazzo della Ragione (1193), an historical building situated between Piazza delle Erbe and Piazza dei Signori.
The exhibition hosts, in rotation, the modern and contemporary collection narrating the developments of art in Italy from 1830 to the present day, and focuses on different topics and insights that have distinguished the cultural landscape of this chronological period.
Since 1997 the Gallery has been characterized by the commitment to enrich the contemporary art sector with about 400 works that have become part of the civic heritage. This has been possible thanks to an organic policy of purchases, donations, deposits and loans, with the aim of offering the public an understanding of the various languages of both the authors already reknown in the international scene, as well as those of the young emerging artists, witnesses of the most current research.
