The exhibition "Return to the origins", curated by Francesca Bellola, hosted at the Arianna Sartori Gallery in Mantua opens on Saturday 8 October at 5.30 pm - free admission - open up until 20 October 2022 - Displays a selection of oil paintings on canvas, by Simona Ceccarelli.

In everyday life we find social origins as well as the ways and customs that characterise our society, while an individual appears more complex to perceive. Of course, distinguishing virtual reality from reality seems insignificant, and yet all young people tend to loose themselves, and unfortunately the news confirms this, in a superficial and puerile world.

The exhibition "Back to origins" by Simona Ceccarelli highlights our true essence, as the origin of existence. Becoming children again when the memories resurface, or a sentence from the past is uttered, when we behave in a way that reflects an attitude experienced already, referring to childhood.

The exhibition underlines the value of the author's childhood, lived in the Po Valley, often shrouded in fog, maintaining an intimate and introspective charm. The territory has taken root in the soul, it has crept into the heart and mind of the artist and has grown deep roots, through which flows lifeblood that feeds memories and visions of indelible landscapes.

The selected works, done in oil on canvas, some of which are specially made for the exhibition, depict a very dynamic vision of revisited landscapes, where ocha and earth colors predominate. Contrasted by blue and purple tones that allude to water sources. and in turn: to life. Depicted in “Galaverna” of 2022 we see the mastery of the drafting of intense blues, showing the crystallised frost on the leaves and branches, on the cold Lombard nights.

The figuration, itself is very free, in search of an expressive and poetic world within the vegetation. The tree trunks have bare branches and the close-up details of the countryside are contemplated in an explosion of colours that recall expressionism, albeit revisited in a personal way.

A dynamic sense of characterised images in the artist's paintings, that are oriented towards an increasingly liberal interpretation of reality.
